Job summary

Datacom is seeking a senior project manager to lead large, complex data centre and infrastructure initiatives in Wellington. You will shape delivery approaches, coordinate resources, and ensure projects meet defined scope, budget and timing while maintaining governance.

You will collaborate with senior stakeholders, technical specialists and vendors, guiding multi‑platform teams through design, development, testing and handover to operations, with strong reporting and financial oversight.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large/complex infrastructure projects.
• Broad understanding of infrastructure technologies and dependencies.
• Strong PM capabilities across scope, time, cost, quality, communications, risk and procurement.
• Proven customer and senior stakeholder management, including third-party vendors.
• Strong financial literacy with cost estimation, forecasting and reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Certifications such as PRINCE2/PMI/Agile are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead large, complex data centre and infrastructure projects through full lifecycle.
• Define delivery approaches, plans, schedules, resources and governance.
• Manage scope, budget, quality, risks, issues, dependencies and changes.
• Build and guide collaborative project teams across multi‑platform environments.
• Coordinate design, documentation, development, testing and implementation.
• Maintain reporting and relationships with customers, stakeholders and partners.
• Manage project financials, including forecasting and budget tracking.
• Develop and manage vendor agreements and third‑party relationships.
• Plan handover of completed projects into operational support.
