Job summary

Meridian Energy is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide technical leadership across asset types, guiding project delivery and resolving complex operational issues. You will mentor junior engineers and drive mechanical risk assessments and asset management planning.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and extensive experience in generation or engineering, plus strong stakeholder collaboration and compliance knowledge in the electricity sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Ideally 10+ years of professional experience in generation, consulting or engineering.
• Experience leading complex mechanical work scopes and cross-disciplinary teams.
• Proven ability to manage deliverables and stakeholders.
• Understanding of maintenance, projects and asset management.
• Knowledge of project delivery methodologies.
• Experience mentoring and reviewing others.
• Understanding of compliance, health and safety in the electricity industry.
