Job summary

Contact Energy Ltd seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical discipline for its geothermal fleet. You will provide expert engineering advice, guide decision making, and ensure assets operate safely and reliably through outages and improvements.

You will mentor peers, shape standards, and drive capability within the Generation and Trading group, balancing hands‑on problem solving with strategic influence.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Extensive experience in power generation or heavy industry (≈10+ years).
• Specialist knowledge in heavy rotating equipment, pressure parts, or functional safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering support for Contact's geothermal fleet across lifecycle.
• Provide trusted technical advice and guide decision‑making.
• Mentor engineers and shape standards and processes within Generation and Trading.
