Contact Energy Ltd is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead and support our geothermal fleet. You will provide trusted engineering advice, guide decisions, and ensure assets operate safely and reliably throughout their lifecycle.

The role includes mentoring engineers, shaping standards, and lifting capability across the Generation and Trading group, with on-site problem solving and strategic influence prioritized.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Solid experience in power generation or heavy industry, ideally 10+ years.
• Deep expertise in mechanical disciplines such as heavy rotating equipment, pressure parts, or functional safety.
• Professional registration or exposure to financial modelling and business cases would be valuable.

Responsabilités

• Lead and support Contact’s geothermal fleet with trusted engineering advice.
• Guide decision-making and ensure assets perform safely and reliably across their lifecycle.
• Mentor engineers, shape standards and processes, lift capability across Generation and Trading.
• Engage in on-site problem solving and influence strategy with safety and performance at the core.
