Job summary

Contact Energy, Te Mata Hiko, invites applications for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead maintenance and growth of our geothermal fleet. You’ll provide trusted technical guidance, support operations, and steer projects across the asset lifecycle to ensure safety, reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Solid experience in power generation or heavy industry (10+ years).
• Deep expertise in mechanical discipline such as heavy rotating equipment, pressure parts, or functional safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead role in supporting Contact’s geothermal fleet and provide trusted engineering advice across the asset lifecycle.
• Mentor engineers, shape standards, and lift capability across the Generation and Trading group.
• Influence strategy and drive continuous improvement with safety and performance as priorities.
