Job summary

Stantec seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Building Services) in Queenstown, NZ to lead mechanical design for diverse projects including data centres, healthcare, and education. You will mentor the team, manage workload, and maintain delivery quality, schedule, and budget while engaging with clients.

You’ll contribute to engineering systems, uphold professional standards, and help grow Stantec’s NZ Buildings group through strong relationships and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Consulting environment within Building services.
• Knowledge of the New Zealand Building Code and relevant NZ Standards.
• Bachelor degree and minimum of 6 years in engineering/consulting.
• Willingness to build strong client relationships.
• Ability to multitask between project work and section performance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Chartered status or Producer Statement favorable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Design, documentation, and supervision including client liaison, authorities liaison, reporting, and quality audits.
• Mentor and lead projects and develop the team through professional growth and technical excellence.
• Oversee the design process and ensure alignment with project guidelines.
