Stantec is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Buildings team in New Zealand, Wellington. You will contribute across healthcare, laboratories, and critical facilities, mentoring engineers and ensuring quality, schedule, and budget adherence.

Role involves project delivery, business development, and contributing to engineering standards, with a focus on building services and client relationships to advance built environment solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, and ideally a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in the engineering industry or consulting.
• Willingness to establish and maintain strong client relationships to formulate repeat opportunities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsabilités

• Lead and contribute to the delivery of mechanical building services projects across sectors including health, data centres, education, industrial, and infrastructure.
• Provide technical guidance and support to project engineers, helping ensure quality, coordination, programme, and budget outcomes are achieved.
• Oversee design, documentation, project review, and construction‑phase support in collaboration with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities.
• Build trusted client relationships by understanding project needs and providing practical, future‑focused engineering solutions.
• Mentor and support team members, sharing your technical knowledge and helping foster a collaborative, high‑performing team environment.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of Stantec's engineering systems, standards, and quality processes.
• Play an active role in strengthening team culture, supporting knowledge‑sharing, professional development, and positive project outcomes.
