Job summary

Legends Global is seeking an experienced Event Operations Manager for Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre. You will lead Event Operations and Guest Services, coordinating live events from handover to completion and ensuring world-class service for clients and guests.

You will oversee staffing, vendor relations, and on-site operations, fostering a safe, efficient, and high-quality event experience while aligning with budget and operational goals.

Qualifications

Experience in a leadership role within hospitality or a large venue.
Ability to lead and develop a diverse operational team.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Comfortable making decisions under pressure.
Ability to build cross-department relationships.
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

Lead the operational planning and delivery of large and complex events, acting as primary on-site contact for clients.
Oversee event setup, live delivery, bump-in/out, and handovers between teams.
Develop and mentor Event Operations and Guest Services teams.
Plan staffing and manage staff requisitions to meet budget and operational needs.
Ensure contractors comply with company requirements and regulations.
Maintain high standards of guest service, punctuality, and presentation.
