Job summary

Onyx Recruitment is partnering with a leading Building Services consultancy to recruit a Senior Electrical Engineer based in the Waikato or Tauranga. You will lead multidisciplinary project teams, mentor engineers, and own client relationships across regional projects.

From feasibility to commissioning, you will direct complex electrical systems design, including lighting, power, security, ELV, and IT infrastructure, while shaping resourcing, fee estimates, and risk management to ensure delivery

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; professional registration desirable.
7+ years of NZ building services consultancy experience.
Strong leadership, staff development and workload management.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop a regional team of engineers and technicians.
Direct and manage complex electrical engineering projects across regions from feasibility to handover.
Lead the detailed design of complex electrical systems including lighting and IT infrastructure.
Serve as the primary contact for clients, architects, contractors and councils.
Assist with project resourcing, fee estimates, risk management and technical reviews.
