Job summary

UTHealth Houston seeks a Senior Digital Control Technician to manage building automation and energy management systems across campus, optimizing utility use and ensuring reliable operation of HVAC and related facilities.

You will monitor BAS/DDC, analyze energy data, troubleshoot systems, and coordinate with contractors. The role requires essential status during emergencies and residence in Texas. Strong communication and BAS skills are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in HVAC or Instrumentation required; may substitute with equivalent years of experience.
• Minimum 5 years of commissioning, installing, and operating direct digital controls and communications network without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maximizes utility savings and effective control of equipment using EMCS/BAS; monitors, tests, calibrates, and schedules operations.
• Installs and maintains metering devices; records trends and data logs to identify issues campus-wide.
• Develops strategies to improve system efficiency using real-time data and utility manager software.
