Job summary
Christchurch Airport is seeking an experienced BMS Controls Engineer to own the Terminal's Building Management System (Siemens Desigo CC) and associated controls infrastructure. The role blends office-based engineering with hands-on field work across a large, critical facility, ensuring reliability and energy efficiency.

Qualifications
- Experience with commercial Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Strong HVAC controls and automation knowledge.
- Experience commissioning and fault-finding control systems.
- Familiar with BACnet, Modbus and industrial communications.
- Experience with PLCs, DDC controllers or similar platforms.
- Electrical/controls or automation qualifications.
- Experience in complex commercial, industrial, or critical infrastructure environments.
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimise the Terminal Building Management System.
- Monitor and improve HVAC performance and energy efficiency.
- Diagnose and resolve complex controls and automation faults.
- Support planned maintenance and critical operational responses.
- Work with contractors, consultants and service providers.
- Manage small to medium capital improvement projects.
- Commissioning new plant and system upgrades.
- Maintain accurate system documentation and graphics.
- Support integration between building systems (HVAC, mechanical, fire, energy monitoring and other smart building tech).
- Identify opportunities to improve reliability, resilience and sustainability across the Terminal.
