Placements24 is seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer to join their Queenstown-based team. You will design, implement and maintain DCS/PLC/HMI systems, develop automation strategies to boost safety and efficiency, and troubleshoot control-system issues to ensure plant reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience designing, implementing and maintaining industrial control systems (oil and gas preferred).
• Proficiency with PLC/DCS platforms (Honeywell, Siemens, Emerson).
• Knowledge of SCADA systems and industrial communication protocols.
• Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain DCS, PLC, and HMI systems for industrial processes.
• Develop and implement automation strategies to improve plant efficiency, safety, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control systems hardware and software.
• Develop and execute test plans for control system logic and functionality.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations for control systems.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to support plant activities.
