Job summary

WSP Paeroa is seeking a Senior or Principal Engineer to focus on asset and network performance within transportation/ roading. This embedded role partners with a key client in the Thames-Coromandel region, providing strategic advice, technical expertise and hands-on project delivery five days a week.

You will apply asset management standards, deliver data analytics and consulting services, and lead multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality outcomes while developing trusted client

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 8–10 years in a comparable civil engineering role with asset management and network performance.
• Experience in project management, client engagement and business development.
• Chartered Professional Engineer or progression toward accreditation.
• Local government and NZTA experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of asset management, data analytics and related standards.
• Commercial awareness and ability to manage scope, schedule, risk and finance.
• Clear communication and collaborative, client‑centred approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic asset management and network performance consultancy for transportation projects.
• Deliver asset information management advice, data analytics and deliverables.
• Apply NZ standards and emerging ISO standards in projects.
• Perform technical reviews and develop practical, innovative solutions.
• Lead asset management projects, managing scope, programme, budget, quality, risk.
• Provide project leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
• Build relationships with clients and grow asset management services regionally.
• Collaborate with specialists across WSP to deliver client-focused outcomes.
