Westpac in New Zealand seeks a Principal Engineer to shape technology strategy and target architecture across the Cards domain. The role is a senior enterprise technical leadership position focusing on secure, scalable solutions and engineering excellence.

You will lead across multiple squads, drive architectural decisions, and align technology with business outcomes, regulatory needs and customer experience objectives.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering or similar.
• Demonstrated ability to lead across large, complex technology environments.
• Deep expertise in Cards, Payments, Issuing or Transaction Processing.

Responsabilités

• Define and drive technology strategy, target architecture and engineering roadmap for Cards domain.
• Provide technical leadership across squads, services, platforms and programs.
• Translate business strategy into architecture direction and executable outcomes.
• Lead secure, resilient, scalable and maintainable solutions aligned with enterprise architecture.
