Our client in New Zealand seeks a Senior Accountant to join a professional team. The role focuses on accurate, timely, and tax-compliant accounting services, with client liaison across the business and advisory support on financial reporting, tax planning, and structuring matters.

Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals, and collaborating with the senior team to deliver advisory services.

Qualifications

• Accounting qualification and deep understanding of accounting principles.
• Strong Xero, MYOB and MS Office skills, and experience with CCH iFirm.
• In-depth knowledge of NZ tax legislation.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
• Excellent time management and numeracy.

Our client is an established and highly successful small business accountants who are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their professional and friendly team. The main purpose of this role is to provide accurate, timely, and tax compliant accounting services. This is a client-facing advisory role, providing the opportunity to build strong relationships with key clients while assisting with financial reporting, tax planning, and business structuring matters.

This includes:

• Full preparation and completion of financial statements, tax returns and workpapers for Companies, Trusts, Partnerships and Sole Traders.
• Preparing annual accounts
• Preparing GST, PAYE and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, rental properties, and individuals
• Client liaison via phone, email and in person
• Providing accurate accounting services and support for clients, using Xero, MYOB, and CCH iFirm.
• Work collaboratively with senior team members on client advisory matters

To be successful you must have:

• Accounting qualification and in depth understanding of accounting principles
• Strong Xero, MYOB, and Microsoft Office skills, and experience with CCH iFirm or similar integrated workpapers.
• In-depth understanding of NZ tax legislation.
• Ability to work accurately and meet deadlines.
• The ability to hit the ground running and work independently.
• Excellent time management and numeracy skills
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), with clear English
