Job summary

Hibiscus Coast Accountants in Auckland is seeking a Junior Accountant to join our busy, growing team. You will work Monday to Friday, 30–40 hours per week, with learning and development opportunities.

You will assist in preparing financial statements, tax returns, GST/PAYE filings and liaise with clients. A relevant bachelor’s degree in accounting or related fields and proficiency with Xero, MYOB, and Excel are required. NZ residency or valid work visa is needed.

Qualifications

• Relevant bachelor’s degree or above, in accounting, statistics, or mathematics
• Proficiency with Xero, MYOB and Excel
• Strong communication and time management skills
• NZ residency or valid NZ work visa required

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing financial statements (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow) for companies, trusts and individuals
• Prepare tax returns in accordance with NZ tax legislation
• Prepare GST returns, PAYE, and other statutory filings
• Liaise with clients regarding routine accounting and taxation matters
• Support maintenance of taxation databases
• Perform other duties as assigned

Location of Work: Auckland

Type of employment: Full time, 30 - 40 hours per week

Days required: Monday - Friday

Pay: $28 - $33 per hour, based on qualification and experience

Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for companies, trusts, and individuals
• Prepare tax returns in accordance with New Zealand tax legislation
• Prepare GST returns, PAYE, and other statutory compliance filings
• To assist in the maintenance of the taxation of the databases
• Liaise with clients regarding routine accounting and taxation matters
• Other duties and responsibilities which may be assigned to you from time to time
• Relevant bachelor’s degree or above, in areas of accounting, statistics, or mathematics
• Relevant work experience is preferred
• Proficiency with Xero, MYOB and Excel
• Strong communication and time management skills
