Job summary

KG Recruitment in Auckland, NZ is seeking an experienced BAS Accountant to join a progressive chartered accounting practice. You will manage BAS compliance, prepare annual and management reports, and provide advisory services in a busy, supportive environment. Strong Xero skills and IFRS exposure are highly valued, with ample opportunity to grow and work directly with directors.

Qualifications

• Strong Xero experience with BAS management.
• Significant BAS experience (minimum 6 years) in a NZ CA firm.
• Ability to review and advise on BAS and IFRS where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare annual, management and special purpose financial reports for varied entities.
• Compile Income Tax returns, GST, PAYE, FBT and other compliance work.
• Manage, train and review work of the team.
• Direct contact with clients on compliance and business advisory matters.
• Liaise with clients, IRD, banks and third parties as required.
• IFRS preparation experience is welcome for public company accounts.

This proactive Chartered Accounting firm has constantly increased its client base. This role is a mix of preparation of annual accounts, reviewing work and advisory work. Also IFRS accounts work if you have this experience. This Partner has approx 60% of fees in advisory work and so there is plenty of opportunity to do this type of work. There are solid opportunities for strong growth in this dynamic environment. The firm holds regular networking and also social events. Strong Xero experience is needed as well as plenty of BAS experience to a BAS Manager level in a reputable firm.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of annual, management and special purpose financial reports for a variety of entities, small to large organizations
• Compilation of Income Tax returns, GST, PAYE, FBT and other compliance work as required
• Managing, training and reviewing work of the team
• Direct contact with client on compliance and business advisory matters (forecasting, valuation, due diligence, forensic accounting)
• Liaising with clients, IRD, banks and other third parties as and when required as part of the various projects and consultancy work the firm enters into
• If you have IFRS preparation experience this would be welcome as there are a few publicly listed companies to prepare accounts for

$140K to $160K pa plus KS for 40 hour week.
