Job summary

New Era Technology NZ is seeking a Senior AV Installation Technician to deliver audio-visual, unified communications, and video conferencing solutions for clients. The role spans design, installation, commissioning, and support with a focus on quality and performance.

You will be the technical escalation point for the Service Desk, ensuring installation quality and accurate as-built documentation while traveling to client sites across Auckland and occasionally beyond.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years’ experience in AV installation, unified communications, video conferencing, or a related technical role.

Responsibilities

• Represent the company professionally and deliver exceptional customer service, building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including timesheets, configuration records, and as-built documentation.
• Support pre-sales activities by providing technical advice, product recommendations, and input into solution design.
• Prepare, configure, install, and commission AV, unified communications, and video conferencing solutions in line with project requirements.
• Work closely with Project Engineers to support system integration, programming, testing, and project delivery.
• Ensure installations meet quality, safety, and customer expectations, validating system performance and functionality.
• Act as an escalation point for the Service Desk, providing advanced troubleshooting and resolving technical issues both remotely and onsite.
• Manage service requests, coordinate manufacturer escalations, and maintain accurate service records.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and compliance requirements, maintaining relevant site certifications and promoting a safe working environment.
