Job summary

TR Group is seeking an experienced Application Support Specialist to join our IT team in Auckland. This hands-on role focuses on supporting, monitoring and improving our internal applications, coordinating releases, and working with development and infrastructure teams to keep systems running reliably.

You'll bring 5+ years of hands-on tech experience, a broad understanding of enterprise IT, PowerShell scripting, and familiarity with Power Apps/Power Automate, ITIL, and basic networking.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on technical experience in a mid-sized, multi-site environment.
• Broad knowledge of modern enterprise technology including servers, networks, storage, security, cloud platforms and end-user devices.
• Solid understanding of how software applications are designed, delivered and supported across their lifecycle.
• Strong PowerShell skills with the ability to write operational scripts.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Apps/Power Automate.
• Knowledge of ITIL (ITSM) practices.
• Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, ports, connectivity).
• Problem solving mindset and proactive approach to issues.

Responsibilities

• Support operation, monitoring and performance for internal applications.
• Coordinate and support new internal software releases.
• Act as central PAAS release coordinator for releases with 3rd parties.
• Produce support documentation for TR systems.
• Assist QA with UAT testing when required.
• Handle 1st/2nd level support queries and escalation for in-house apps.
• Build, deploy, operate and maintain application monitoring with tools like PRTG, Grafana and Azure services.
• Manage support tickets by gathering technical information for efficient investigations.
• Perform routine operations across internal and hosted applications (e.g., user provisioning, reporting).
