Job summary

Datacom in Wellington seeks an experienced Application Packaging Specialist to lead end-to-end packaging, testing, and deployment for managed service customers. You will manage lifecycle activities, collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to deliver projects within timelines and budgets.

The role requires about 5 years in IT, with ~3 years in packaging, and strong knowledge of packaging tools (InstallShield, Master Packager) and OS platforms (Windows 10/11, macOS).

Qualifications

• 5 years IT industry experience.
• Approximately 3 years in an Application Packaging role.
• Exceptional knowledge of packaging tools and processes.
• Strong knowledge of Windows/macOS operating systems and packaging tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end packaging, repackaging, testing, and deployment of applications across BAU and project work.
• Manage application lifecycle activities including discovery, analysis, packaging, troubleshooting, deployment support, and ongoing optimisation.
• Collaborate with project teams, customers, and stakeholders to plan, scope, and deliver projects within timelines and budgets.
• Produce and maintain operational documentation, standards, and knowledge resources for service delivery and handover to BAU teams.
• Analyse and resolve packaging and deployment issues to ensure minimal disruption and high service quality.
• Utilise enterprise tools and ITIL-aligned processes to deliver reliable, compliant, high-quality services.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance, efficiency, and cost control.
• Maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication and engagement.
• Contribute to pre-sales activities, bid responses, solution design, and project scoping efforts.
