Job summary

Norwood Hastings is seeking an experienced sales professional to represent leading agricultural and construction equipment brands and manage a key regional territory. You will help farmers, contractors, and rural businesses choose the right machinery to get the job done while building genuine relationships.

You will work with an experienced team, enjoy a competitive package with commissions, and have the freedom to grow market share across your region in New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of sales experience in agri/industrial sectors.
• Well-established network within farming, rural, or construction sectors preferred.
• Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills are essential.
• Solid computer skills and ability to learn new tools and software, including CRM.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage full sales process from prospecting to closing and after-sales support.
• Promote and sell Norwood's agricultural and construction equipment range.
• Build and maintain relationships with farmers, contractors and rural businesses.
• Identify opportunities to grow market share and develop new business.
• Provide expert advice and practical solutions tailored to customer needs.
• Stay updated on industry trends, products and market developments.
• Collaborate with Parts and Service teams to deliver outstanding customer experience.

About the role

Based at our Hastings dealership, you'll represent some of the world's leading agricultural and construction equipment brands, including Kubota, Landini, and Kuhn.

This role is about more than selling equipment. It's about understanding your customers, building genuine relationships, and helping farmers, contractors, and business owners find the right machinery to get the job done. You will have the freedom to manage your territory, the support of an experienced team behind you, and the opportunity to make a real impact for customers and the wider business.

What you will do

You’ll work closely with customers across the region, helping them choose equipment that best suits their business and building long-term partnerships that keep them coming back to Norwood.

• Managing the full sales process, from prospecting and lead generation through to closing the sale and ongoing customer support.
• Promoting and selling Norwood's range of agricultural and construction equipment.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with farmers, contractors, and rural businesses.
• Identifying opportunities to grow market share and develop new business.
• Providing expert advice and practical solutions tailored to customer needs.
• Keeping up to date with industry trends, products, and market developments.
• Working closely with our Parts and Service teams to deliver an outstanding customer experience.

What you will bring

You're someone who enjoys getting out and meeting people, building trust, and helping customers find the right solution.

• A minimum of 5 years sales exp required, ag knowledge an advantage but not necessary
• A well-established network within the farming, rural, or construction community is highly desirable.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to foster professional relationships with your peers.
• Solid computer skills, including experience with CRM systems and the ability to learn new tools and software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.
