Job summary

Manawanui RTLB Cluster 10 invites applicants for two Primary/Intermediate itinerant roles (Years 2–10) starting Term 1, 2027. Based at our Papatoetoe Intermediate Hub, you will support diverse schools to strengthen inclusive practice and outcomes for students with additional needs.

You will collaborate with teachers, leaders and families, coach and mentor practice, and contribute to sustainable change within a reflective, partnership-driven team.

Qualifications

• Full New Zealand teacher registration and a current practising certificate.
• A recognised teaching degree that meets Massey University entry requirements.
• Willingness and ability to complete the compulsory postgraduate study.
• The right to work in New Zealand.
• A full, current driver licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Availability to work the required hours 8am–4pm.

Responsibilities

• Work as an itinerant RTLB across Years 2–10 in diverse schools.
• Collaborate with teachers, leaders, whānau, students and other professionals to strengthen inclusive practice and improve outcomes for students with additional needs.
• Coach, mentor, and support changes in teacher practice to advance inclusive education.
• Contribute to sustainable change within a reflective, partnership-driven team.

As an itinerant practitioner based at our Papatoetoe Intermediate Hub, you will work across Years 2–10 in a diverse range of schools. You will collaborate with teachers, leaders, whānau, students and other professionals to strengthen inclusive practice and improve outcomes for students with additional needs.

This role may suit an experienced teacher who:

• is ready to move out of the classroom while continuing to positively influence outcomes for students
• enjoys working collaboratively with adults and building strong professional partnerships
• has a sound understanding and application of the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum, particularly English and Mathematics
• has a sound understanding and application of structured literacy
• has strengths in coaching, mentoring, and supporting changes in teacher practice
• is reflective, adaptable, organised, and committed to inclusive education
• can work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.

Essential requirements include:
