Job summary

One New Zealand is seeking a Risk and Compliance Advisor to mature enterprise risk management, support the Top Business Risk programme, and strengthen policy and awareness across the business.

The role is a 9-month fixed-term contract with hybrid work options. You will build trusted relationships with risk owners, provide insights on top and emerging risks, and leverage AI tools to uplift risk management and policy controls.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of Enterprise Risk Frameworks such as ISO 31000.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Proven stakeholder engagement and influencing capability.
• Ability and desire to work in a continually evolving environment, including leveraging AI to uplift risk management and insights.
• Strong initiative and personal accountability, with the ability to pursue priority matters with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead regular reviews of top business risks with relevant Senior Leaders and prepare reporting for Exec and Board.
• Develop and execute an annual risk plan to increase the maturity of One NZ’s Enterprise Risk Management.
• Develop a risk-aware culture by supporting risk owners and champions to understand effective risk management practices.
• Build relationships and credibility with business risk owners as a valued expert in risk reduction and control improvement.
• Leverage corporate AI tools to provide insight and challenge across key and emerging risks relevant to One NZ.
• Increase Policy Champion engagement to support effective controls for policy compliance.
• Maintain a current and easy-to-use Policy Portal and coordinate annual policy review and approval.
• Provide timely and useful insights on top and emerging risk themes to Exec and senior stakeholders.

Ko tō tūranga – your role

As the Risk and Compliance Advisor your role is to help the business make better risk-based decisions through maturing enterprise risk management activity and facilitating the Top Business Risk programme. You’ll also help enhance the integrity and reputation of One NZ through policy library management and the awareness programme, building trusted relationships with business risk owners and providing insight and challenge across key and emerging risks.

This role is a 9 month Fixed Term contract.

Ko Tō Mahi – What You’ll Do
