As our Senior Portfolio Coordinator you’ll play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of a complex portfolio of programmes and projects for one of One New Zealand’s largest public sector customers. Working alongside Portfolio, Programme and Project Managers, you’ll bring structure and visibility across multiple workstreams, ensuring governance runs smoothly and stakeholders have clear, accurate and timely information to support decision-making.

  • Coordinate the portfolio governance and reporting rhythm, ensuring forums are well prepared and actions, decisions and follow-ups are effectively managed.
  • Maintain a consolidated view of portfolio health, including schedule, milestones, RAID, dependencies, scope, change, resources and delivery status.
  • Analyse portfolio information to identify emerging risks, trends, exceptions and decision points, providing clear insights to delivery leadership.
  • Translate complex delivery information into clear, consistent and decision-ready reporting for senior leaders and customer stakeholders.
  • Support financial and commercial reporting, including forecasts, recoverability, cost pressures and unfunded activity.
  • Act as a central coordination point across the portfolio, continuously improving reporting, governance standards, templates and assurance practices.

  • Proven experience in portfolio, programme or project coordination, PMO, governance or delivery support, ideally within a complex ICT or customer delivery environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret delivery, financial, risk, dependency and milestone information.
  • Experience producing high-quality governance, executive and customer-facing reporting that supports effective decision-making.
  • Sound knowledge of project and programme delivery practices, including governance, RAID, change control, dependencies and reporting cycles.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with experience supporting forecasting, recoverability and project financial administration.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging senior internal and customer stakeholders.
  • Highly organised and adaptable, with strong Microsoft Office capability, a continuous improvement mindset, and ideally experience using generative AI tools.
  • One New Zealand is leading the way by ensuring you can have a truly balanced life. Most roles allow flexibility to work from home and flex your hours to enjoy work & whānau commitments.
  • A fully subsidised Southern Cross health insurance cover for you and your family.
