Job summary

Linfox NZ is seeking an experienced Retail Operations Manager to lead our Auckland transport operation. You will oversee day-to-day scheduling, driver coordination and labour planning while driving safety, service delivery and commercial performance in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll coach and develop frontline teams, build strong customer relationships and monitor KPIs to optimise productivity and fleet utilisation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in transport scheduling or coordination.
• Proven people leadership capability.
• Strong knowledge of freight operations, warehousing and customer billing.
• Knowledge of transport regulations, load restraint and safe transport practices.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand operational performance, costs and KPIs.
• Ability to coach and develop people while maintaining a safety-focused culture.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with a customer-focused approach.
• Resilient and adaptable leadership style for fast-paced operations.

Linfox New Zealand is seeking an experienced Retail Operations Manager to join our Retail transport operations in Auckland.

Working alongside another Retail Operations Manager, you’ll lead the day‑to‑day performance of a busy transport operation, ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently and in line with customer expectations. You’ll provide leadership across our transport team while maintaining a strong focus on safety, service, people capability and operational performance.

We’re looking for a hands‑on transport leader who thrives in a fast‑paced operational environment; someone who can lead from the front, build strong relationships with drivers and frontline teams, and use operational insights and KPIs to improve productivity, service and commercial outcomes.

The role will initially operate Tuesday to Saturday, with the potential to alternate between Tuesday‑to‑Saturday and Sunday‑to‑Thursday working patterns. We’re therefore looking for someone who can bring flexibility to their working week and support the needs of the operation.

• Drive continuous improvement across transport processes, systems and equipment to deliver stronger operational outcomes.
• Ensure transport activities meet customer requirements while supporting efficient fleet utilisation and service delivery.

This role is ideal for an experienced transport or logistics leader who combines strong operational knowledge with an engaging, practical leadership style. You will bring:

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in transport scheduling or coordination, supported by proven people leadership capability.
• Strong knowledge of freight operations, warehousing and customer billing.
• Sound knowledge of relevant transport regulations, load restraint and safe transport practices.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand operational performance, costs and KPIs.
