Job Description

Kia ora! Ready to take your leadership impact to the next level and help keep Air New Zealand moving? Behind every successful flight is a supply chain delivering the right parts, tools and materials when they're needed most. We're looking for an Operations Manager - Supply Chain to lead our Auckland North Warehouse operation, bringing together people, performance and continuous improvement to support the safe and reliable operation of our airline.

This is an exciting opportunity to broaden your leadership experience, influence outcomes across our operational teams and make a tangible difference to how we deliver for our customers and each other. With approximately 45 people across your wider team and accountability for a $5 million annual budget, you'll play a key role in strengthening our distribution capability and helping shape the future of our supply chain.

How You'll Make An Impact
  • Lead our North Warehouse operations and satellite stores, delivering safe, efficient and reliable services that meet agreed performance standards
  • Inspire and develop a high-performing team, including 5 to 7 direct reports and approximately 40 indirect reports, building capability, engagement and accountability
  • Drive continuous improvement across warehousing, distribution, freight, inventory and tool control to strengthen operational performance
  • Manage an annual budget of approximately $5 million, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining service quality
  • Build strong partnerships across Engineering & Maintenance, Airports, In-flight Operations and Crew to deliver solutions that support operational priorities
  • Champion safety, regulatory compliance and business continuity, ensuring robust processes and audit readiness
  • Use SAP, operational insights and performance KPIs to inform decisions, streamline processes and deliver measurable improvements.
What You'll Bring

You'll be a confident, people-focused leader who understands the importance of operational excellence and knows how to bring teams together to achieve great outcomes.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Proven experience leading warehouse, distribution, supply chain or other complex operational functions
  • Strong understanding of airline operations, ideally including technical, regulatory and commercial requirements
  • Demonstrated success developing capable, engaged teams and leading change in a complex operational environment
  • Sound commercial judgement, with experience managing budgets, supplier relationships and service level agreements
  • Confidence using SAP or similar systems to support operational planning and performance improvement
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate and build trusted relationships across the business
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in business or a related discipline, or equivalent practical leadership experience
  • A commitment to safety, accountability and delivering consistently high standards.

If you bring most of this experience, along with transferable skills and the drive to grow, we'll love to hear from you.

Your journey starts here

This is your opportunity to take on a broader leadership challenge, grow your impact across Air New Zealand and help shape an operation that is critical to our airline's success. If you're ready to bring fresh thinking, develop great people and drive meaningful operational improvements, we'll love to hear from you.

Applications close Sunday 15th November 2026.
