Job summary

Woolworths Supermarkets New Zealand is seeking a proactive Operations Team Leader to drive store processes and stock integrity in Timaru. You will lead teams, train staff, and ensure shelves are accurately stocked and standards met.

You’ll manage weekend shifts and evenings, collaborate across functions, and contribute to a culture of care and efficiency. This role offers opportunities to develop leadership skills within a nationwide retailer.

Qualifications

• Effective Team Leadership: lead teams, delegating tasks, monitoring progress, coaching, providing feedback, and motivating members.

• The ability to work four weekend shifts per month and at least one evening each week.

Responsibilities

• Execute Operations & Stock Management: ensure accurate and timely completion of routines, leading the swarm to correctly handle tasks, and overseeing all teams to fill shelves and manage deliveries according to standards.
• Team Leadership & Development: lead on-job training and coaching for team members, and champion a safe and healthy work environment.
• Maintain Store Standards: ensure all teams are filling to correct standards, prioritize shelf-friendly packaging, and manage overstocks effectively.
• Resolve Issues Proactively: timely escalate process-related issues to the Function Lead for resolution.
• Contribute to Store Leadership: step up as Acting Store Manager on scheduled shifts and actively participate in Better Together connections to foster team collaboration.
