Placements24 is seeking a compassionate Mental Health Support Advocate to join its fully remote team. You will provide non-clinical support, guide clients through mental health services, and advocate for their needs with healthcare and community resources.

This role emphasizes empathetic communication, active listening, and discretion. You will maintain confidential records, collaborate with remote colleagues, and help clients build coping strategies while working from home.

Qualifications

• Experience in a mental health support role, peer support, or advocacy.
• Strong understanding of mental health conditions and available resources.
• Excellent communication, empathy, and active listening skills.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Proficiency in remote communication tools (video conferencing, messaging) and case management systems.
• Personal lived experience with mental health challenges is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide empathetic, non-clinical support and active listening to individuals experiencing mental health concerns.
• Assist clients in understanding and accessing mental health services, treatments, and support groups.
• Advocate for clients' needs and rights within healthcare and community systems.
• Help clients develop coping strategies and self-management skills.
• Maintain confidential records of client interactions and support provided.
• Collaborate with remote colleagues and external partners to enhance service delivery.
