Job summary

RDNS NZ in New Zealand is seeking a Relief Cover Coordinator to join our Service Delivery team. You will manage same-day staff absences and arrange relief staff to minimise disruptions, working with Support Workers, Service Coordinators, clients and other stakeholders to ensure continuity of care and high-quality service delivery.

This role requires strong organisational and communication skills, accuracy, responsiveness, and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.

Qualifications

• Essential: highly organised with strong time management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Experience in coordinating staff rostering desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage same-day staff replacement.
• Handle unplanned absences and sick leave notifications.
• Source relief staff based on availability, skills, location and client needs.
• Communicate service changes, delays or cancellations to clients.
• Maintain roster information and service records.
• Document staffing changes and service outcomes.
• Escalate unresolved staffing issues and service risks.
• Collaborate with Service Coordinators to achieve positive outcomes.
