Job summary

Royal District Nursing Service New Zealand (RDNS NZ) seeks a Relief Cover Coordinator to manage same-day staff absences and arrange suitable relief staff, ensuring continuity of care and timely service delivery across our New Zealand homes and communities.

In this fast-paced role you’ll work with Support Workers, Service Coordinators and clients to minimise disruptions, maintain rosters, and document changes while delivering compassionate, client-focused service.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage same-day staff replacement requirements.
• Receive and action unplanned support worker absences and sick leave notifications.
• Source suitable relief staff based on availability, skills, location, and client requirements.
• Communicate service changes, delays, or cancellations to clients in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain accurate roster information and service records.
• Document staffing changes, communications, and service outcomes.
• Escalate unresolved staffing issues and service risks when required.
• Collaborate with Service Coordinators and the wider service delivery team to achieve positive client outcomes.
