Job summary

Serco is seeking Reintegration Officers to support rehabilitation and reintegration within a secure facility. You will work on a 24/7 roster, helping ensure safety and fostering a respectful environment for inmates.

Training is provided; no prior experience required. Applicants must meet NZ working rights, hold a Class 1 licence, and communicate clearly in English to document incidents accurately.

Qualifications

• Full Class 1 Driver Licence required.
• Working rights in NZ: NZ citizen, Australian citizen, permanent resident, resident or valid visa with at least 3 years.
• Ability to work a 24/7 schedule including nights, weekends and public holidays.
• NZQA Offender Management Level 3 training required.
• Excellent command of English for incident reporting on a formal platform.
• Life experience to support prisoners' reintegration journey.
• Reliable, dependable team player with good problem-solving skills and decision-making ability.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a safe, secure environment.
• Receive prisoners, conduct searches, and support daily routines and escorts.
• Supervise and support prisoners in rehabilitation and reintegration programmes.
• Submit accurate incident reports and maintain administrative records.
• Build positive relationships with prisoners, staff and external agencies.
• Supervise prisoner activities and work programs.
• Participate in team meetings to enhance team cohesion.
