Matawhāiti and Tōruatanga, our residential facilities located at Christchurch Men's Prison currently have secondment/fixed term opportunities for Assistant Resident Supervisors, due to changes in staffing requirements. The Canterbury residential facilities are run by the Department of Corrections for people who have a history of offending behaviour and are subject to sentences or orders (including extended supervision orders, intensive monitoring orders or public protection orders) when released from prison. These facilities are designed to assist individuals to develop important life skills within a supportive and supervised environment, to provide structure and supervision, and to mitigate and reduce the risk of re-offending and harm to the community through effective engagement and support in day to day activities.
As an Assistant Residence Supervisor, you will be part of a team supervising and monitoring residents while also ensuring the smooth running of the facility. Working with residents to develop daily routines and life skills is a key part of your role while overseeing the safety and wellbeing of each individual in our care and that of your colleagues. The salary range effective is split across 3 levels ranging from level 1 at $65,843 - level 3 at $73,149 per annum pro rata. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
