Job summary

Travis Medical Centre in New Brighton, South Island, is seeking a caring Registered Nurse to join our busy GP-owned practice. This permanent role is approximately 36 hours per week over 5 days, with a full-time or job-share arrangement considered, offering a varied and rewarding role.

Responsibilities include immunisations, cervical screening, wound care, infusions, health assessments, and patient education, working alongside our GP and multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality,

Qualifications

  • Current New Zealand Registered Nurse APC
  • Experience with immunisations and cervical screening preferred
  • Strong clinical skills including wound care, IVs and infusions

Responsibilities

  • Provide acute and chronic care, immunisations, cervical screening, wound care, and infusions
  • Conduct health assessments and patient education

Travis Medical Centre is seeking a caring, motivated, and enthusiastic Registered Nurse or Nurses to join our friendly and supportive team.

This is a permanent position, working approximately 36 hours per week over 5 days. One full-time role or shared between two applicants. Offering a varied and rewarding role, including:

  • Acute and chronic disease management
  • Immunisations and cervical screening
  • Wound care and clinical procedures
  • Infusions
  • Health assessments and patient education
  • Care planning and long-term condition management
  • Working alongside our GPs, Nurse Practitioner, and multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care

The successful applicant will have:

  • Current New Zealand Registered Nurse Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
  • Current CPR certificate
  • Previous experience in general practice nursing or a closely related clinical area
  • Excellent clinical skills, with experience in cervical screening, immunisations, ear suction, venesection, and IV line insertion (or a willingness to develop these skills)
  • Authorised Vaccinator status or a willingness to obtain this qualification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong organisational skills, initiative, and a positive, can-do attitude
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a commitment to continuous quality improvement
