Job summary

Edgeware Health in Christchurch is seeking a part-time registered nurse to join our GP-owned practice. You will provide comprehensive nursing care across acute and chronic conditions, immunisations, wound care, and health assessments, working closely with GPs and a supportive team.

Qualifications

Job description

This is a part time position, working 16 hours per week over 2 days. The aim is to increase the hours over time as the practice grows. The role is varied and rewarding.

Key responsibilities

• Acute and chronic disease management
• Immunisations and cervical screening
• Wound care and clinical procedures
• Infusions
• Health assessments and patient education
• Care planning and long-term condition management
• Working alongside our GPs and other staff members to deliver quality patient care

About you

• Current New Zealand Registered Nurse Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
• Current CPR certificate
• Previous experience in general practice nursing or a closely related clinical area
• Excellent clinical skills, with experience in cervical screening, immunisations, venesection, and IV line insertion (or a willingness to develop these skills)
• Authorised Vaccinator status or a willingness to obtain this qualification
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Strong organisational skills, initiative, and a positive, can-do attitude
• Flexibility and adaptability, with a commitment to continuous quality improvement
