Placements24 is actively seeking a Logistics Planning Officer for its distribution hub in Queenstown (Eastern Cape). The role focuses on planning inbound and outbound shipments, coordinating with warehouses, carriers, and suppliers, and ensuring efficient supply chain flow.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in logistics or supply chain management.
• 2–3 years experience in logistics planning or coordination.
• Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and ERP software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with Eastern Cape logistics landscape is a plus.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Queenstown, Eastern Cape.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize daily, weekly, and monthly logistics plans for inbound and outbound shipments.
• Coordinate with warehouses, carriers, and suppliers to ensure timely movement of goods.
• Track shipments and address delays or disruptions to the supply chain.
• Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to manage routes, loads, and carrier performance.
• Prepare and analyze logistics reports, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
• Maintain records of shipping documents, costs, and delivery times.
• Support inventory management through timely receipt and dispatch of goods.
• Communicate effectively with all parties involved in logistics processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce logistics costs.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations.
