Job summary

Rwr Construction in Northland seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to drive commercial delivery on residential projects from early pricing to completion. You will work with estimators, project managers and leaders across a diverse housing pipeline, handling cost plans, procurement, budgets and variations.

Our client is a well-established residential builder with an exciting pipeline of work and a reputation for delivering quality homes across the Northland. Due to continued growth, they're looking to add an experienced Quantity Surveyor to their team.

This is a broad role where you'll be involved from the early pricing stages through to project completion, working alongside experienced estimators, project managers and operational leaders on a diverse range of residential projects.

You'll play a key role in the commercial delivery of residential construction projects, with responsibilities including:

• Preparing estimates and detailed cost plans.


• Procurement and subcontractor engagement.


• Producing purchase orders and managing budgets.


• Contract administration and project cost control.


• Managing variations and payment claims.


• Supporting Project Managers throughout construction.


• Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.


• Contributing to value engineering and commercial decision-making.

About You.

We're looking for someone who has:

• Residential Quantity Surveying experience in New Zealand (group housing experience preferred).


• Strong estimating and post-contract QS capability.


• Excellent commercial judgement and attention to detail.


• The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.


• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
