Job summary

Platinum Recruitment – Queenstown, New Zealand is seeking an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of commercial delivery on a growing portfolio of regional projects. You will work under a Senior QS, handling budgets, cost control, procurement, claims, and variations, while developing autonomy and strong stakeholder relationships with clients, subcontractors and site teams.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years' Quantity Surveying experience in NZ construction.
• Experience working within NZ commercial construction projects.
• A relevant Quantity Surveying qualification is required.
• Strong procurement, cost management, claims and variations knowledge.
• Excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Looking for the opportunity to take ownership of your own projects, without losing the supporting of an experienced commercial team?

A well-established commercial contractor is looking for an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join its Queenstown team. With a strong and varied pipeline of work across the region, this is a great opportunity for a QS ready to take the next step in their career and build autonomy across project delivery.

The Role

Working alongside an experienced Senior QS, you'll take commercial responsibility for your own projects from procurement through to final handover.

You'll be responsible for:

• Managing project budgets, cost control, and financial forecasting
• Procuring and managing subcontractor packages
• Assessing progress claims and manage variations
• Providing accurate commercial reporting through the project life-cycle
• Working closesly with site teams, subcontractors, clients and consultants

You won't be expected to operate without support. You'll have oversight from a Senior QS while being given the opportunity to make decisions, manage your own workload and develp your commercial capability.

About You

You'll ideally have:

• 4-5 year's Quantity Surveying experience
• Experience working within NZ commercial construction
• A relevant Quantity Surveying qualification
• A good understanding of procurement, cost management, claims and variations
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with internal and external stakeholders
