Job summary

John Fillmore Contracting in Auckland, North Island, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead civil structures, rail and urban infrastructure initiatives. You will drive delivery, manage budgets, and ensure safety and quality on complex civils projects.

You’ll coordinate multidisciplinary teams, allocate resources, and nurture client and supplier partnerships to secure ongoing opportunities and successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Formal Qualification – preferred, or equivalent experience
• Proven civil construction experience – Particularly in structures, rail and/or urban infrastructure projects.
• Strong track record – delivering complex civils projects on time and within budget
• Strong Project Management Skills – across safety, contracts, financial management, programming and stakeholder management.
• Technical Proficiency – Strong computer literacy and familiarity with construction management software.
• Collaborative and Solutions‑Focused Attitude – Someone who adds value and takes ownership of projects.

Responsibilities

• Owning Project Delivery – Ensuring projects are safely completed on time, within budget, while meeting client expectations
• Leading Project Teams – Providing leadership and direction to ensure smooth project execution.
• Resource Organisation – Overseeing planning, scheduling, and resource allocation (both direct resource and subcontracted) to balance multiple priorities effectively.
• Strengthening Industry Partnerships – Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, design teams, suppliers, and subcontractors for long‑term success and market opportunities.
