Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

If you’re an experienced civil Project Manager and have ever considered a move to Queenstown, this could be worth a conversation.

I’m working with a South Island civil contractor looking for a Project Manager to join their Queenstown team. They have a strong pipeline of civil and three waters work ahead and are looking for someone who can take ownership of projects from planning right through to delivery.

This is a hands on PM role. You’ll be close to the work, leading your site teams, managing clients and subcontractors, and keeping a firm handle on programme, costs, and delivery.

The role

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Managing civil and three waters projects from planning through to completion
  • Programming, budgeting and overall project performance
  • Leading and supporting site teams
  • Coordinating subcontractors and suppliers
  • Managing client relationships and project stakeholders
  • Monitoring costs, variations, quality and programme
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard
What we're looking for

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Solid Project Management experience within New Zealand civil construction
  • Experience across civil infrastructure and/or three waters projects
  • Good commercial understanding and confidence managing project financials
  • Strong communication and client management skills
  • The ability to lead teams and take ownership of delivery
  • An engineering or relevant construction qualification would be advantageous
Considering a move to Queenstown?

Relocating isn't always straightforward, particularly when it comes to finding somewhere to live.

A relocation package is available to assist with the move, and the company will also help with sourcing accommodation.

It’s an opportunity to join an established team with good projects ahead, while making the move to a part of the country that offers a pretty great lifestyle outside of work too.

Not looking to make the move to Queenstown?

I’m also recruiting for a Project Manager with a civil contractor based in Timaru. If Timaru is a better fit, get in touch and I can talk you through that opportunity instead.
