Job summary

Roman & Brothers Construction Limited in Auckland is seeking a Construction Project Manager to plan and organize our construction projects, ensuring on-time delivery and value.

You will interpret architectural drawings, coordinate labour, procurement and subcontractors, and ensure compliance with safety standards. A Bachelor or higher in construction management or civil engineering and 5 years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher qualification in construction management or civil engineering.
• Minimum five years of relevant work experience.
• Clean police record and ability to pass drug tests.

Responsibilities

• Interpreting architectural drawings and specifications.
• Coordinating labour resources, and procurement and delivery of materials, plant and equipment.
• Consulting with Architects, Engineering Professionals and other professionals, and Technical and Trades Workers.
• Negotiating with building owners, property developers and subcontractors involved in the construction process to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Preparing tenders and contract bids.
• Operating and implementing coordinated work programs for sites and ensuring adherence to building legislation and safety standards.

Length of employment: Full time and permanent

Hourly rate: $42 to $55 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week (Minimum 30 hours guaranteed).

Your duties may include but not limited to:

interpreting architectural drawings and specifications

coordinating labour resources, and procurement and delivery of materials, plant and equipment

consulting with Architects, Engineering Professionals and other professionals, and Technical and Trades Workers

negotiating with building owners, property developers and subcontractors involved in the construction process to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget

preparing tenders and contract bids

operating and implementing coordinated work programs for sites

ensuring adherence to building legislation and standards of performance, quality, cost and safety

arranging submission of plans to local authorities

building under contract, or subcontracting specialised building services

overseeing the standard and progress of subcontractors' work

To be successful in this role, you need to have

• Bachelor or higher qualification in the field relevant to construction management or civil engineering, or at least five years relevant work experience is required
• Clean police record
• Can pass drug tests
