Job summary

ABB in New Zealand seeks a Project Engineer to lead design and integration of DCS/PLC control systems across the full lifecycle, from concept through commissioning. Qualifications

• Electrical or Electronic Engineering qualification is required.
• Knowledge of industrial control systems is essential.
• Experience with fieldbus protocols (ProfiBus, Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU) is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and Outlook; AutoCAD is a plus.
• Familiarity with VMware/ESXi for virtual server environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement DCS/PLC control systems per standards.
• Develop IEC 61131-based control software and integrate with architecture.
• Configure and verify industrial networks and domain architecture.
• Troubleshoot and optimize control system applications.
• Support project delivery with customer engagement and documentation.
