Job summary

AECOM’s Auckland office seeks a Senior Electrical & Controls Engineer to deliver electrical design, instrumentation and control solutions for energy and industrial projects in NZ. You will design, review and supervise electrical, instrumentation and control work packages, including PLCs, SCADA, and lighting, working with a multidisciplinary team.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with clients and project teams, ensure NZ regulatory compliance, and support delivery through all project stages

Qualifications

• Experience in design and delivery of electrical, instrumentation and controls projects across project stages (concept to commissioning).
• Knowledge of NZ regulations and market is highly desirable (5+ years).
• Ability to lead and mentor other engineers and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and supervise production of electrical and automation drawings and specifications (SLDs, AC/DC schematics, field devices, lighting, SCADA).
• Lead and deliver work packages through concept, detailed design, commissioning and site support.
• Ensure accuracy and quality of technical documentation to NZ standards and client requirements.
• Collaborate with technical leaders to validate work packages and meet timelines, budgets and scope.
• Coordinate with project leads, managers and teams to deliver designs on schedule.
• Support project delivery through cost estimating, scheduling input, and field reviews during construction.
• Engage with stakeholders to refine drawings and designs and ensure safety, quality and environmental standards.
