Job summary

Pacific Radiology Limited is seeking a PET Administration Specialist to join our Canterbury team on a permanent part-time basis, working 37.5 hours per week.

In this role, you will provide the successful coordination and booking of imaging appointments, in particular PET/CT and interventional bookings, as well as a frontline reception service that contributes positively to the company\'s image by interacting with patients, referrers, funders and the public in a prompt and professional manner.

Qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification, with experience in a healthcare environment an advantage.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to process large amounts of changeable and technical information.
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills, using exemplary interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Gmail, and the ability to pick up new computer systems quickly.
  • A base knowledge of medical terminology is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and book imaging appointments, particularly PET/CT and interventional bookings.
  • Provide frontline reception services and greet patients and referrers.
  • Answer incoming calls and provide clear, timely information about appointments and preparations.
  • Liaise with clinical teams, travel coordinators (DHB), and radiopharmaceutical deliveries.
  • Manage funding applications (e.g., Southern Cross, ACC) and process account payments.

Pacific Radiology is seeking a PET Administration Specialist to join our Canterbury team on a permanent part-time basis, working 37.5 hours per week. In this role, you will provide the successful co-ordination and booking of imaging appointments in particular PET/CT and interventional as well as a frontline reception service that contributes positively to the company's image by effectively interacting with patients, referrers, funders and the public in a prompt and professional manner.

Working within the PET/CT team, you will serve as a key point of contact — welcoming patients and visitors, answering incoming calls, and ensuring all patients and referrers receive clear, timely information regarding their imaging appointments, including preparation instructions and relevant safety checks.

Your planning skills will be equally essential. You will apply correct protocols and liaise with appropriate clinical teams, request blood tests, previous imaging and surgical notes on behalf of patients, liaise with DHB travel co-ordinators to manage patient travel arrangements, and co-ordinate with Cyclotek for daily radiopharmaceutical deliveries. You will also manage funding applications (e.g., Southern Cross, ACC) and process account payments, ensuring patients have a clear understanding of costs.
