Job summary

Pacific Radiology is seeking an Imaging Assistant in Waikato for a permanent, full-time 40-hour week role. You will support radiologists and clinical staff, ensuring patient-focused service with care, respect and professionalism throughout each visit.

You will set up rooms and equipment, assist with procedures, communicate timelines to patients, and help with coding and bookings. The team values quality care, privacy and teamwork across a nationwide imaging network.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional written and oral communication to put patients at ease.
  • Ability to operate with supervision and monitor own performance.
  • Strong computer literacy, including the ability to learn clinical information systems such as Comrad.
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Pacific Radiology – Hamilton, North Island

We are seeking applications for an Imaging Assistant in Waikato. In this permanent, full-time (40 hours per week) role, you will assist in the provision of a high-quality imaging service to referrers and patients, and support the clinical team in providing patient-focused service at all times.

Working closely alongside our radiologists and clinical staff, you will ensure every patient is treated with care, respect and professionalism throughout their visit. You will assist the imaging staff to complete examinations professionally and completely within the scheduled time, and ensure excellent communication at all times with the patient, keeping them aware of the timelines around their scans. Your day-to-day work will include assisting with the provision of procedures to patients, including the setting up of rooms, trolleys and equipment, as well as ensuring patients have sufficient post-procedure information and support as required. You will also assist with examination coding and procedure bookings as required.

You will contribute to a quality-focused environment, relating confidently and professionally with a wide range of people, processing and comprehending relevant patient information, and following RHCNZ patient care guidelines — all while maintaining patient privacy at all times.
