Job summary

New Zealand Health Group in Auckland, North Island, is seeking a Part-Time Rostering Coordinator - Afterhours to support rostering across NZCL with disability services.

You will coordinate rosters for Support Workers, ensure safety and competency alignment, and use the CMS to maintain up-to-date staff availability. The role requires after-hours shifts Wednesday evenings and weekend days, with a focus on reliable, compassionate scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate service rosters through efficient scheduling practices.
  • Provide accurate and timely information to services regarding rosters.

  • Ensure staff availability is up to date in the CMS.
  • Arrange relief cover for planned and unplanned leave.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with support workers and managers.
  • Manage sick and annual leave of staff.

The Rostering Coordinator -After-Hours is responsible for supporting the successful migration and implementation of a new rostering system across NZCL, which is the division of NZ Health Group providing specialised support to individuals with a disability, as well as their whanau. You will coordinate effective and efficient rostering of our Support Workers, ensuring the delivery of safe services to the people we support, taking ownership of the rostering processes to ensure Support Workers are rostered as per their competencies, availability and contracted hours.

  • Coordination of Service rosters through efficient scheduling practices
  • Provide accurate and timely information to services regarding their rosters
  • Effective use of client management systems (CMS) as per policy and procedure
  • Ensurestaff availability is up to date on the CMS
  • Relief cover organised for Support Workers for planned and unplanned leave
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with support workers and managers
  • Manage sick and annual leave of Support Workers effectively

This is a permanent part-time position based is in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.

Hours are as follows:

Wednesday 5:00pm to 11:00pm
Saturdays 9:00am to 5:00PM
Sundays 9:00am to 5:00PM

Please note: To support employee wellbeing and meet our health and safety responsibilities, this role is not suitable for candidates who are already working full-time and intend to maintain both positions

  • Previousexperience in scheduling/coordinating rosters using MS Excel or a Client Management System
  • Strong organisational skills required to establish priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills & listening skills, with the ability to build and sustain effective relationships
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles and practice of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
