Job summary

Health New Zealand is seeking a Rostering Training Specialist to join our Northern Regional Rostering team. You will become a subject matter expert in Mahi ē Taea and support frontline users to maximise system capability and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • A relevant qualification and/or at least 3 years' experience in workforce systems, payroll, rostering, or a related field.
  • Experience with award interpretation systems and workforce management processes.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and a proficient level of technical expertise.
  • Confident Training users of a system.

Responsibilities

  • Provide frontline support to managers and employees using Mahi ē Taea.
  • Deliver training sessions, create user guides and support resources.
  • Identify recurring issues and contribute to system improvements.
  • Assist with fortnightly pay run checks and payroll collaboration.

About the Role

We are seeking a Rostering Training Specialist to join our Regional Rostering team and play a key role in supporting and enhancing our Workforce Management System, Mahi ē TaeaThis exciting role combines training, system support, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement. You will become a recognised subject matter expert in rostering practices and the Mahi ē Taea workforce management system, helping teams across the Northern Region maximise system capability and efficiency.The role focus is on providing frontline support to managers and employees usingMahi ē Taea (UKG Pro WFM), ensuring users are confident in the correct use of timecards and workforce management processes. The role will also help build user capability, identify recurring issues, and support business as usual support. You will respond to and triage system queries, identify areas requiring additional support, contribute to system improvements, and provide valuable feedback to project and payroll teams.You will work closely with the Regional Rostering Training to identify recurring user issues and provide training sessions, materials, user guide, and support resources. You will also assist with fortnightly pay run checking, help improve customer experience, and work closely with project, payroll, and wider rostering team to ensure the successful adoption and ongoing use of workforce system.

About the Team/Service/Location

This role sits within People and Culture, Payroll, and reports to the Regional Rostering System Delivery Manager - Northern. You will work closely with, Payroll, Reporting and AskHR teams, and the wider People & Culture function.

About You

You are a customer-focused Roster or Training Specialist who enjoys helping people navigate workforce systems and improving the way technology supports business processes.You will bring:

  • A relevant qualification and/or at least 3 years' experience in workforce systems, payroll, rostering, or a related field
  • Experience with award interpretation systems and workforce management processes
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and a proficient level of technical expertise
  • Confident Training users of a system
  • Techy savvy and adaptable to change
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a focus on customer support and service delivery
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering positive outcomes for users
  • Experience with UKG Workforce Pro, UKG Dimensions, Kronos Workforce Central, or similar rostering systems, along with knowledge of the Holidays Act 2003, would be advantageous.
