Job summary

Team Global Express NZ is hiring a full-time Parcel Sorter for our Christchurch branch. You will assist with the safe handling of freight, support on-time delivery goals, and contribute to a damage-free service.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 10.30am–7.00pm, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork. Successful candidates will have physical fitness, a good team orientation, and some freight industry experience.

Qualifications

• Physical fitness and ability to handle manual freight tasks.
• Strong team coordination and communication within a warehouse environment.
• Experience working with freight and logistics processes is preferred.
• Forklift licence or experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight safely and securely.
• Achieve branch objectives by accurately scanning and logging freight.
• Ensure all accompanying documentation is complete and correct.
• Operate equipment safely and proficiently.
• Sort and restack damaged freight and protect leaking products.
• Maintain positive working relationships with teammates.
• Communicate effectively within a team environment.

We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Parcel Sorter to join our Christchurch branch!

Hours: Monday – Friday, 10.30am – 7.00pm

About The Role - Mō Te Tūranga

You will be responsible in assisting with the safe handling of freight, achieve target delivery goals, and strive to provide an on time, damage-free service.

Additional Key Duties Below

• Load and unload all freight safely and securely
• Achieve branch operational objectives by using On-time to scan freight efficiently
• Ensure documentation accompanying freight is complete
• Ensure all equipment is operated in a safe and proficient manner
• Action bay labels, re-stacking of damaged freight, protecting leaking product
• Maintain good working relationships
• Communicate effectively within a team environment

What will you bring? – Ōu

To be successful in this role, you will be physically fit, have excellent team coordination skills, and have some experience working with freight.

Additionally, You Will Need

• Prior work experience in the freight industry
• A strong health and safety focus
• F endorsed licence (preferred but not essential)
• Prior long fork experience (preferred but not essential)
• An understanding of dangerous goods laws (preferred but not essential)
