Job summary

Team Global Express NZ in Christchurch is seeking a Freight Operator to join our branch. You’ll load and unload freight, scan, sort, and keep operations moving safely and on time in a fast-paced environment.

This hands-on role requires a clean NZ Class 1 license, forklift license with OSH cert, Dangerous Goods endorsement, and prior experience driving on NZ roads. You’ll work as part of a tight‑knit team with a focus on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Valid NZ Class 1 driving licence.
• Forklift licence with OSH certification and Dangerous Goods endorsement.
• Customer-focused attitude and good communication.
• Experience driving on New Zealand roads.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload all freight safely and securely, for both road and rail units.
• Achieve branch operational objectives by using On-time to scan freight efficiently.
• Ensure all equipment is operated in a safe and proficient manner.
• Maintain good working relationships.
• Communicate effectively within a team environment.

Looking for a role where you get variety in your day and be part of a high performing team? We’re on the hunt for a Freight Operator to join our Christchurch branch! Team Global Express NZ delivers freight forwarding, end-to-end transport services, and comprehensive logistics solutions to customers operating in New Zealand from Kaitaia to Invercargill.

Afternoon Shift: Monday – Friday, Earliest start 10am, latest start 3pm.

About the role - Mō te tūranga

In this hands‑on role, you’ll be loading and unloading freight, scanning, sorting and keeping everything moving safely and on time. No two days are the same – its’ a fast‑paced, physical role where teamwork is key.

Key duties:

• Load and unload all freight safely and securely, for both road and rail units.
• Achieve branch operational objectives by using On-time to scan freight efficiently.
