Job summary

Ingram Micro NZ Ltd is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our Auckland warehouse and distribution operations. You will oversee inbound, outbound, returns and customer operations, ensuring safety, quality and service delivery while guiding a team of 30+ through supervisors and team leaders.

  • 5+ years in an operations manager or senior leadership role within warehousing, logistics, distribution or supply chain.
  • Experience leading large operational teams through supervisors and frontline leaders.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, transport coordination and customer service.
  • Experience managing budgets, workforce planning and performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated commitment to health, safety and compliance in a warehouse environment.
  • Knowledge of WMS, SAP, JDE or similar ERP platforms.

  • Implement and maintain SOPs, quality frameworks and compliance processes.
  • Oversee customer operational reviews and identify growth opportunities.
  • Coach and develop supervisors, team leads and operational teams.
  • Support succession planning and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure business continuity and audit readiness across the operation.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and people-focused Operations Manager to lead our Auckland warehouse and distribution operations based in Manukau. This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing inbound, outbound, returns and customer operations while ensuring the highest standards of safety, operational excellence, and service delivery. Leading a team of 30+ employees through supervisors and team leaders, you will drive productivity, continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and operational performance. Working closely with internal stakeholders, customers, and logistics partners, you will play a key role in supporting business growth and delivering a best-in-class operational environment.

Role Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day warehouse operations across inbound, outbound and returns functions.
  • Ensure operational performance meets agreed service levels, quality standards, and customer expectations.
  • Drive a strong safety-first culture and maintain compliance with all health and safety requirements.
  • Manage warehouse resources, workforce planning, and labour utilisation to support operational demand.
  • Monitor and improve operational KPIs, productivity, inventory accuracy, and cost performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and profitability.
  • Implement and maintain standard operating procedures, quality frameworks, and compliance processes.
  • Oversee customer operational reviews and identify opportunities for service enhancement and business growth.
  • Lead, coach, develop, and performance-manage supervisors, team leaders, and operational teams.
  • Support succession planning, talent development, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure security, regulatory compliance, business continuity, and audit readiness across the operation.
Role Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an operations Manager or senior operational leadership role within warehousing, logistics, distribution, or supply chain environments.
  • Proven experience leading large operational teams through supervisors and frontline leaders.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, transport coordination, and customer service delivery.
  • Experience managing operational budgets, workforce planning, and performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and compliance within a warehouse environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), SAP, JDE, or similar ERP platforms.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to drive change, improve processes, and influence outcomes across multiple teams.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or industry certification in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is desirable.
  • Strong leadership capability with a track record of coaching, developing, and retaining high-performing teams.
