Job summary

The Red Boats in Auckland Harbour is seeking a Bar Manager / Host to lead the onboard bar and host duties across harbour cruises, private charters and events. This fixed-term role offers approximately 25 hours per week, with training provided and a hands-on marine environment for the summer season.

Holds a Duty Manager License or LCQ, strong hospitality skills, and bar supervisory experience to deliver exceptional passenger experiences on board.

Qualifications

Must hold a Duty Manager License or LCQ.
Strong hospitality and customer service skills.
Bar experience with supervisory or management responsibilities.
Confident, friendly and professional with customers.
Reliable, punctual and organized; able to stay calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

Manage onboard bar operations and hosting for cruises, charters and events.
Provide excellent customer service and hospitality to all passengers.
Operate POS and payment systems on board.
Manage bar stock and restock requirements; keep areas clean and well presented.
Ensure responsible service of alcohol and safety procedures on board.
Coordinate with other crew and assist with vessel operations as needed.
Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking; help prepare and reset vessels.
